The higher prices charged can also reduce the potential entrants in the market.  Therefore the key factor to reduce the possible increase in competition is to increase the barriers to entry. Changes in the tastes of the customers may be hard to address but the firm should solely be focused on providing differentiated products and services which are cost effective. With the provision of varied services and products the differing needs and tastes of the customers can fully be addressed. It as a result maintains the demand of the customers maintaining the anticipated level of revenue.
